International Women in Jazz

Seattle Women in Jazz will feature performances from bands led by and/or comprised of women from around the world, with a special U.S. premiere performance from Japanese vocalist Motomi Iono in “International Women in Jazz,” at the Royal Room on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Winner of the 2024 Kobe Jazz Queen Competition in Kobe, Japan, Iono will perform with local artists Marina Albero (piano), Kelsey Mines (bass), and Jeff Busch (drums). EntreMundos Quarteto (a woman-led band with a mix of deep Brazilian roots flavored with world rhythms) and Filthy FemCorps (an all-female marching band) will also perform.

“International Women in Jazz” will take place Oct. 12, 2 pm to 4 pm, at The Royal Room, 5000 Rainier Ave. Doors open at 1:30 pm. Admission is $10 general admission and $5 for students and seniors. To purchase advance tickets, visit bit.ly/iwij.
