Jazz in Japantown – Jazz & Sake in the Garden – curated by Jun Iida

Japantown Jazz is excited to invite you back to the NW hillside corner of the C-ID know as Nihonmachi (Japantown 日本町). Come savor the last month of Summer in community with live Jazz acoustic set in our secret garden for an evening with “Jazz & Sake”. Drink Japanese Sake while you enjoy the soulful sounds curated by Jun Iida.

This Garden Evening event is our mid-week highlight for “Hai!Japantown” a weeklong Summer Festival from 8/10 – 8/18 celebrating the historic Nihonmachi (Japantown), Japanese culture, AANHPI independently owned storefronts, and local performances. Festival Schedule here: JapantownSeattle.com

Music curated by Jun Iida and hand selected saké flights by Japantown’s only gastropub Itsumono. (21+ event)

Sake Tasting (21+ event )

Sip and Savor the last of the Summer season with 3 Japanese Sakés hand selected by Itsumono Musoseki (gastropub) / C-International District. Flights & Beverages are Not Included in the Door Fee (cash-free bar). Interested in learning more meet our Sake Specialist Quan who will guide and educate you into the world of Japanese Saké onsite.

Music

Experience an AANHPI tribute of music curated by Jun Iida whom will play new originals and Japanese covers with quartet featuring pianist Evan Captain-keys, Chris Icasiano – drums, Jun Iida – trumpet, Kelsey Mines – bass.

Jun Iida – Trumpeter, composer, educator, and recording artist Jun Iida (Joon Ee-da) has quickly established himself as a highly sought after musician. A recording and performing artist, Iida has performed extensively throughout the U.S. at notable jazz clubs, theaters, and festivals with his sextet and as a sideman. His new album Evergreen was released in January of 2024 and quickly made it’s way to many “best of” play lists. This Vinyl album is available in Japantown at DaDaDa here.(select in-store pick-up on day of the event)

Meet at Itsumono for Happy Hour 4:00-5:30pm for Teriburgers , Tots, HH Sake Specials. Ticketed guests can then proceed to Chiyo’s garden located in the center of Nihonmachi Alley behind Itsumono for the ticketed Garden Event (5-7pm) 21+Garden Doors open 4:30pm for seating (first come first served)

RSVP and get your tickets online. Door fee supports Japantown Seattle to continue to support more community events in the Nihonmachi. (Drinks not inlcuded in cover)
