It’s that time of year again when we all begin thinking about warmer temperatures and getting outdoors to run and romp. Some of us are looking forward to closing in on the end of another school year. Others are beginning to plan our summer travel schedule. As spring marches forward, the promise of change and growth is all very exciting.
This season also signifies the opportunity to start new developments. This month, Earshot’s Board of Directors is officially kicking off the process to start its search for the organization’s new Executive Director. Assembling the search committee, finalizing the key tenets & responsibilities of the role, and building a detailed timeline with major milestones along the way are but a few of the many pieces coming together to ensure we have a solid process that will successfully yield us our new Executive Director by the fall. We commit to keeping you informed along the way. We are very excited about this juncture in our journey.
While we are looking forward, we’re also purposefully acknowledging the “now.” We’re just off the heels of another successful Golden Ear Awards. These pages include a recap of that festive night where we were serenaded by the incomparable Freddie Fuego and his ensemble and gathered down at the familiar Royal Room to honor the artistry, collaboration, and spirit of the community from last year.
The month of April is recognized as National Poetry Month, which coincides with April 30, International Jazz Day. In this month’s issue, read a selection of poems inspired by the jazz genre beautifully written by folks right here in our local community.
And finally, this year’s GiveBIG spring campaign begins May 6-7, but please consider giving early starting April 22 at wagives.org. No amount is too small. Each donation affords us the opportunity to continue to do the great work we do day in and day out to keep this amazing artform alive. You’ve always stepped up to the plate, so we say “Thank you!” in advance for your gift!
Thank you for your continued support.
