
Gotz Fundraiser
Bake’s Place hosts a fundraiser for Michael Gotz, to help with upcoming expenses related to the guitarist’s recent multiple myeloma cancer diagnosis. Gotz currently plays jazz guitar at Bake’s, with bassist Keith Lowe. The duo performs at the benefit event Sunday, September 28, 6pm, with proceeds going toward Gotz’s medical expenses.
Jam Session News
Jay Thomas’ Cantaloupes jam session at the Ship Canal Grill has ended. You can find more with Jay Thomas in this issue’s calendar, and more with the Ship Canal Grill at shipcanalgrill.com. A guitar session, organized by the Seattle Jazz Guitar Society, is held these days at El Norte Lounge, fourth Thursdays, 6:30pm. It’s usually hosted by Doug Zangar, Bruce Barnard, or another volunteer. The session is open, inclusive and supportive, with a rhythm section.
